Re-living 2010

This was probably the best year of my entire life, so far at least.
On December 5th I went into 2010 a newlywed. It was definitely the happiest day of my entire life. I learned throughout the year that marriage takes a lot of work. And you definitely have to humble yourself. Trey is my bestfriend and he makes me feel so blessed.

Three weeks after we got married we set of for Australia. We lived our first 6 months of marriage there with two crazy Australian roommates. We met a lot of people that we still hold very dear to our hearts. It was such a transformational time period in my life. I feel like I really grew up and learned to take care of myself.

We came back to Cincinnati because there were issues we needed to attend to in our family life back in Cincinnati. We both experienced heartbreak. With the passing of Treys grandpa and the end of my parents 20 year marriage, we found ourselves picking up the pieces around us for the ones we loved. We settled in though and starting renting the most gorgeous house with Trey's best-friend Andy. It was in downtown Clifton with the most gorgeous view. It was everything I ever wanted in my first apartment.

We threw some great parties and made some wonderful new friends.

Around fall we found the most gorgeous kitten on Craigslist for free! We named him Ickarus. He is the first pet I've ever had on my own and I've found myself absolutely in love with the sweet boy.

I made a constant set of girlfriends, and I appreciate all the wonderful times and support that they have given me.

My wonderful husband and I celebrated our one year wedding anniversary by going back to the Wildwood Inn. It was one of the best weekends I've ever had.

We got our very own Christmas Tree! We celebrated Christmas two weeks early together because neither one of us could wait to give the other our gifts. We cried when we opened then. It was the best Christmas we had ever had.

It's now 2011 and I can't believe it. This year went by so fast. We currently have 4 more months left on our lease here. Then we are getting our first place together. We are staying in the city and renting a smaller apartment to save up so that within the next two years we can buy our first home. Trey is working as a temp in a factory and is hoping to get hired on within the next few weeks! I am working for two different coffee shops and plan on going to school next September to become a 3rd grade teacher. I am also looking for a new job. One that pays a little bit more and that is closer to home.

This new year here are some goals that I am setting for myself.
1. I would really like to start eating right and loose around 30 lbs. to be the weight that I was in 2009. Along with that it would be great if I could finally save up to get my own gym membership and finally give up meat all the way! I wanna start taking care of myself better than I ever have.
2. Stop sweating the small stuff- Sometimes I find myself getting so worked up over the tiniest things that won't even matter within five minutes. I wanna have the attitude that Trey does and not get so upset all the time. I really let other people bring me down and I don't want to anymore.
3. Quality over Quantity- I want to keep this in mind when it comes to my wardrobe. I have so many close but I'd like to get rid of a lot of them and just spend some money on buying a few really nice pieces for my closet. I am also going for a more adult like look. This goal could also be taken into consideration the people that I let in my life. I always felt like the more friends a person has the more fun that they are having. But it isn't always true. I'd like to have a few quality friends that I can always rely on instead of a bunch of "friends" that I only see every once in a while.
4. I would really like to travel a lot more than I did last year! Even if that means just small weekend trips with Trey.
5. I really wanna get serious about going to school! It would be the biggest blessing to finally have a job that I truly love.
6. Broaden my mind- I would love to read more than I already do and start crafting more. I wanna devote more time to learning the Bible and just learning in general.
7. I would love it if I could finally get organized. I am such a mess maker (always have been) but this year I would love it if I could finally keep my house and car clean!

  1. I am truly inspired by the idea of a six month honeymoon. Living in Austrailia would be AMAZING! I love the kangaroo!
